Karlsruhe, 13 April 2017. Urban Logistics – this is the motto of the PTV Group's trade fair portfolio for transport logistic in Munich. From 9 to 12 May, the software special-ist for logistics, transport and traffic will be at stall 401/502 in hall B2 introducing its logistical solutions for modern city centres and presenting current product high-lights from the areas of trip planning, real-time notification and system integration. An additional side event on 10 May offers an opportunity to discuss current research projects.
"The fact that the amount of freight transport in cities is increasing is a given. The reason for this lies at least partly in the increase in e-commerce and delivery services", confirms Matthias Hormuth, Director of Solution Management Logistics at PTV Group. This increase poses major challenges both for city centres and logistics service providers and leads to increased air and noise pollution, traffic jams, tighter delivery time slots and access restrictions. In order to be able to guarantee supply to trade, production, the service industry and private households for the future, smart and sustainable solutions are required.
"At PTV Group, we help all stakeholders to reconcile the interests of traffic politics, logistics and cities", says Hormuth. For transport logistics, the PTV Group offers cross-sector software solutions for strategic, tactical and operational planning and thus facilitates flexible route optimisation and realistic delivery time information. Hormuth summarises: "Whether it's as an online service or as a local application with the customer, the PTV Group's software solutions are the tool of the trade for efficient, sustainable and future-oriented logistics. That applies both to the urban space and beyond."
